For over a decade, we have been migrating new software and legacy applications from Microsoft, Linux, UNIX, and Mainframe environments to our VPS or private cloud in data centers in Austria, Switzerland, or Germany.
How does such a migration to the peaknetworks environment work?
At the peaknetworks Development Lab, we have the tools and methodologies to support you with your individual migration tasks into our infrastructure. With our group of developers and their broad and detailed knowledge, we tailor our approach to your requirements and needs. We proceed in the following steps:
1) Analysis Phase
Initially, an analysis of systems and services is conducted. Peaknetworks employees collaborate with the customer to analyze.
2) Development of Implementation Roadmap with Pilot
Together with the customer, an implementation roadmap is created, detailing workflows with schedules.
3) Joint Implementation and Operation
n close coordination with the customer, the systems and services are brought into operation with us. Upon request, we provide 7x24 monitoring, backups, and keep an eye on scaling as the load increases.
Which operating systems and environments do we migrate into our infrastructure?
We have years of experience with the following platforms and operating systems:
1) Linux

2) UNIX and legacy UNIX systems
We natively support the BSD UNIX derivatives (FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD) or as VMs in our hypervisor environment.
Sun or Oracle Solaris on X86 and Sparc, IBM AIX, and HP-UX. Here, we migrate running software to Linux or BSD UNIX VPS or private cloud.
3) Microsoft Windows Server
We offer migrations for all Windows Server variants, deployment of virtual desktop solutions and porting of .NET Core applications to Linux VPS solutions for Microsoft environments.
4) Mainframe and legacy Mainframe
We migrate or port from Z/OS to VPS or cloud environments, with the transformation of legacy applications into modern frameworks.
On z/OS systems, we have experience with High-Level Assembler, COBOL, PL/I, REXX, and DB2.
5) Real-time OS
For customers, embedded Linux environments have been ported to us or integrated. Additionally, we are well-versed in WindRiver VxWorks on Motorola/MIPS/x86/x86 multi-core.

Yes, we only accept migration or development orders where customers subsequently host with us on VPS or private cloud.

Yes, for example, a legacy Cobol application from Solaris or z/OS could be ported to Java, C++, or .NET.
